Salina cattle auction report
The Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Co., Salina, Kan., reported receipts of 1,549 head Nov. 1, compared to 2,695 head last week and 3,251 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, steers and heifers at 400 to 950 pounds were $1 to $3 lower, with full decline on the lower grading and fleshy cattle. Slaughter cows were not tested. Trade and demand were light to moderate. Receipts included 63% 600 pounds and over, 36% 600 pounds and under, 1% slaughter cows and bulls. The feeder supply consisted of 66% steers and 34% heifers.
