Goldthwaite sheep salesThe Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, Nov. 2, reported receipts of 1,037 head of sheep and goats, compared to 1,951 head last week and 1,767 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to last week, stocker and feeder lambs were not tested. Light weight slaughter lambs were $5 to $7 lower, heavy weights were steady on a light test. Stocker and feeder goats were steady. Slaughter goats were $2 to $3 lower. Demand was moderate. The supply included round 30% sheep including nearly 200 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified. Stock and feeder: Dorper ewes, few 90 to 130 lbs., 45.00 to 55.00. Dorper bucks 100.00 to 150.00 per head. Barbados bucks 100.00 to 200.00 per head. Slaughter lambs: Choice and Prime 2 to 3, few choice 90 lbs., 85.00. Good and Choice 1 to 3, 40 to 80 lbs., 90.00 to 106.00. Barbados, lambs, 15 to 40 lbs., 98.00 to 100.00; 45 to 60 lbs., 85.00 to 94.00. Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 40 to 60 lbs., 100.00 to 105.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 100.00 to 105.00. Selection 2, 40 to 60 lbs., 95.00 to 100.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 85.00 to 95.00. Nannies, Selection 1, 80 to 130 lbs., 35.00 to 47.00, few to 50.00, thin 30.00 to 35.00. Billies, 90 to 200 lbs., 75.00 to 80.00, few light weights to 90.00. Muttons, Selection 1, few 80 lbs., 95.00 to 100.00. Replacement goats: Kids, Nannies, Selection 1, 80 to 120 lbs., 60.00 to 80.00.
