Georgia livestock auction summary
The summary of Georgia cattle auctions for the week ending Nov. 2 showed receipts of 10,8979 head, compared to 12,479 head last week and 12,699 head last year, according to the USDA-Georgia Department of Agriculture Market News, Thomasville, Ga. Compared to one week ago, slaughter cows were steady to $1 higher, bulls were steady, feeder steers were $2 lower, heifers were $1 to $3 lower, steer calves and heifer calves were $1 to $3 lower, replacement cows were steady to $1 higher. The offering included 7% steers over 600 pounds, 36% steers under 600 pounds, 5% heifers over 600 pounds, 26% heifers under 600 pounds, 9% feeder cows, 14% slaughter cows and 2% bulls.
