Colorado feeder cattle report
The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., Nov. 2, reported receipts of 19,025 head, compared to 16,550 head last week, and 15,565 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo. Compared to last week, steer calves were steady to $1 higher, with instances of $2 higher. Heifer calves sold mostly steady to $1 higher. Yearling steers and heifers were mostly steady in a limited test. Demand was moderate to good, with best demand on long weaned and pre-conditioned calves. Local auctions saw a larger supply of pre-conditioned and source verified calves as the heart of fall run has arrived. The supply was made up of 57% feeder steers, the balance was feeder heifers, with about 38% of total supply over 600 pounds.
