Ada livestock auction report

The Southern Oklahoma Livestock Auction, Ada, Okla., reported receipts of 3,150 head Nov. 1, compared to 2,100 head last week and 3,598 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were $2 lower. Feeder heifers were steady. Demand was moderate to good on all classes. Weigh-ups were average. Flesh conditions were medium to fleshy. The supply included 47% heifers and 51% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were steady to $2 lower. Slaughter bulls were mostly steady. A total of 440 cows and bulls sold, with 40% going to slaughter.

Light, 15 head, 85 to 90% lean, 750 to 1075 lbs., 32.00 to 35.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 25 head, 1300 to 2250 lbs., 56.00 to 59.00; low dressing, 48.00 to 54.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 2 to 4 years old, 800 to 1175 lbs., 3 to 4 months bred, average blacks, 730.00 to 885.00; 3 to 5 years old, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 6 to 7 months bred, high quality, 960.00 to 1050.00; 5 to 7 years old, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 3 to 7 months bred, average quality, 730.00 to 860.00.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1, 6 years old, 1250 to 1300 lbs., with 175- to 200-lb. calves, average quality, 1040.00 to 1060.00.
