Woodward livestock auction report
The Woodward Livestock Auction, Woodward, Okla., reported receipts of 11,751 head May 18, compared to 5,510 head last week and 7,033 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder steers were steady to $2 higher. Feeder heifers were $2 to $4 higher. Steer and heifer calves were not well tested. Demand was good for feeder cattle with best action on steers over 850 pounds and all heifers. Several large consignments of feeder cattle were included. Weigh-ups were average to full. Feeder cattle were in medium to moderate flesh conditions. The supply included 97% over 600 pounds, 3% under 600 pounds. A total supply included 40% heifers.
