The why and where of Nebraska's water
Nebraska Nebraska's water, and how we use it, will be the topic of a June seminar in Scottsbluff that is free and open to the public. Dean Yonts, Extension irrigation specialist at the University of Nebraska Panhandle Research and Extension Center, will speak on June 1, at 3:15 p.m., in the Bluestem Room at the Panhandle Research and Extension Center, 4502 Avenue I, Scottsbluff. According to Yonts, Nebraska water users are making significant changes in how they manage their irrigation water. Surface water users and ground water users are both being impacted. This seminar will focus on understanding how Nebraska's water resources are being used, the impact drought is having on water management, and how can producers sustain acceptable production levels with limited water resources.
