Texhoma cattle sales report

The Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 838 head May 24, compared to 1,522 head last week and 1,575 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. A total of 60 cows and bulls sold with 71% going to packers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 621 lbs., 105.50 calves; 18 head, 658 to 684 lbs., 112.50 to 118.00 (116.43); 7 head, 717 lbs., 112.75; 43 head, 848 lbs., 103.75; 26 head, 1058 lbs., 94.00. Medium and large frame 2, 11 head, 613 to 634 lbs., 110.00 to 116.00 (114.40); 41 head, 699 lbs., 110.00; 75 head, 723 lbs., 108.25; 810 to 816 lbs., 103.10. Medium and large frame 3, 10 head, 903 lbs., 89.50.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 397 lbs., 135.00; 8 head, 423 lbs., 135.00; 5 head, 583 lbs., 109.50; 28 head, 686 lbs., 110.50. Medium and large frame 2, 6 head, 530 lbs., 114.00; 10 head, 781 lbs., 101.50.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 352 lbs., 127.50; 6 head, 437 lbs., 115.50; 561 to 596 lbs., 109.50 to 112.00 (110.91); 16 head, 705 lbs., 102.50; 127 head, 807 lbs., 97.35; 33 head, 873 lbs., 94.75 fleshy. Medium and large frame 2, 656 to 686 lbs., 100.00 to 101.00 (100.83); 23 head, 746 lbs., 98.75; 5 head, 797 lbs., 95.50. Medium and large frame 3, 8 head, 677 lbs., 92.50.

Slaughter cows: Boners, 14 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1075 to 1300 lbs., 52.00 to 52.75; high dressing, 55.00 to 56.25; low dressing, 46.00 to 50.00. Lean, 14 head, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1375 lbs., 51.50 to 52.00; high dressing, 53.50; low dressing, 43.75 to 48.00. Light, 4 head, 85 to 90% lean, 725 to 750 lbs., 39.00 to 42.50.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 11 head, 1325 to 2200 lbs., 64.50 to 68.75; high dressing, 69.00 to 70.50; low dressing, 61.50 to 63.00.
