St. Joseph feeder pigs
The St. Joseph feeder pig auction, St. Joseph, Mo., reported receipts of 397 head May 22, compared to 375 head last week and 196 head last year, according to the USDA-Missouri Department of Agriculture Market News, St. Joseph, Mo. Compared to last week, the bulk of the feeder pigs 50 to 90 pounds with 50 to 70 pound pigs mostly $2 to $5 lower, over 70 pounds steady to $3 higher. Demand moderate on a nice offering of pigs. Prices paid per head on actual weights. U.S. 1 to 2: package 43 lbs., 43.00; 50 to 54 lbs., 45.00 to 48.00; 65 to 70 lbs., 55.00 to 56.00; lot 75 lbs., 58.00; lot 89 lbs., 55.00; lot 91 lbs., 62.00.
