Woodward livestock auction report

The Woodward Livestock Auction, Woodward, Okla., reported receipts of 8,725 head March 16, compared to 10,950 head last week and 7,877 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers under 900 pounds were steady, heavier weights were $1 to $3 lower. Feeder heifers were $1 to $2 lower. Stocker and steer calves were $3 to $4 higher. Stocker and heifer calves were $1 to $2 higher. Quality was average to plain, few attractive. Fill was full to average. Demand was good for all classes. The supply was comprised 57% steers, 41% heifers with 88% over 600 pounds.
