South Central direct sheep
The South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending March 16, showed receipts of 4,100 head feeder lambs, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas. Compared to last test, feeder lambs were $3 to $5 lower. Slaughter ewes, replacements ewes and slaughter meat goats were not tested. Trading and demand was moderate. This is the first volume test of new crop lambs. Feeder lambs: Texas, 4100 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, new crop 70 to 80 lbs., 110.00 to 112.00; 100 lbs., 95.00 to 96.00.
