NMDA's "Grown with Tradition" boosts local nurseriesNew Mexico The Marketing Division of New Mexico Department of Agriculture has teamed up with over 40 nurseries and greenhouses in the state to promote native-grown plants. Edward Avalos, director of the Marketing Division states, "The partnership between New Mexico nurseries and greenhouses continues to grow as NMDA supplies promotional packets encouraging the public to buy New Mexico." Nurseries from Aztec to Las Cruces and from Silver City to Portales will be utilizing NEW MEXICO--Grown with Tradition promotional packets that include signage, plant inserts, plant hangers, aprons and T-shirts indicating availability of local New Mexico-grown plants and flowers. Retailers will also feature the NMDA slogan in retail advertising aided by the department's grants. "Annual support of our state's nurseries and greenhouses is a priority," according to Agriculture Secretary Miley Gonzalez. "NMDA encourages New Mexicans to shop where they see the NEW MEXICO--Grown with Tradition banners and support the local and state economy." Make this year a green and colorful year.
