Kansas Angus Association announces Top Cut Bull SaleKansas The 7th Annual Kansas Angus Association Bull Growers Project is nearing completion. A group of registered Angus bulls selected for performance and genetics have been on test since November at the Reno Farm in Cheney, Kan. The average starting weights for the bulls was 760 pounds and average ending weights will be 1250 pounds. More than 40 of the top performing bulls have been selected to sell in the Top Cut Bull Sale on March 29 at 6 p.m., at the Farmers and Ranchers Commission Co. in Salina, Kan. The bulls were born between January 1 and March 15, 2006. Bulls have been weighed throughout the 120 day feeding period and ranked according to a formula based on weaning ratio, yearling ratio, average daily gain and weight per day of age. Some of the sires represented in the group are among the top in the nation including: Leachman Right Time, GAR Gridmaker, GAR Retail Product , Future Direction, Mytty In Focus, Bon View New Design 1407, BCC Bushwacker 41-92. The purpose of the project is to provide a venue for Angus operations of all sizes and from all areas of the state to make improvements in their own herds by seeing how their bulls compare to others in the state. In addition, the program provides top quality performance tested bulls for prospective commercial and registered producers.
