Renew Rural Iowa Seminar comes to Bos Landen Golf Resort March 22 and 23

Iowa

A business mentoring seminar which brings vast networking and financial resources to small town entrepreneurs is coming to Pella March 22 and 23. The Renew Rural Iowa seminars are designed for anyone who wants to build or grow their business.

A large variety of Iowa entrepreneurs ranging from landscapers, livestock ventilation systems, dairies, mobile veterinary clinics to sports team equipment manufacturers have attended previous Renew Rural Iowa seminars across the state and benefited by the interactive, hands-on sessions.

"We really appreciate Farm Bureau creating the opportunity for us to connect with the best business minds in Iowa and access their insight, experience and wisdom to grow and strengthen our own enterprise," said Mary Miner of Hadar Manufacturing, who attended the January seminar in Cedar Falls. "Without this program we would never have found these mentors on our own," said Miner, who is trying to grow their Humboldt-based team sports athletic equipment manufacturing business. Iowa Farm Bureau Federation joined with the Entrepreneurial Development Center last September to start the Renew Rural Iowa program. With Farm Bureau's $5 million initial investment, the Renew Rural Iowa fund has now grown to more than $15 million.

Entrepreneurs who attend the Renew Rural Iowa seminar will also have access to a statewide business network which includes the USDA, SBDC, and Iowa Bankers Association to the Iowa Bar Association and local partners to help them overcome small business hurdles. The March 22-23 Renew Rural Iowa seminar will be held at Bos Landen Gold Resort in Pella.
