Texhoma cattle sales report
The Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 539 head May 30, compared to 838 head last week and 983 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady in a limited test. There was a limited test on steer and heifer calves. Demand was good for all classes. Weigh-ups were average. The supply was comprised of 55% steers, 41% heifers with 82% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were steady. No test on bulls. A total of 36 cows and bulls sold with 75% to packers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 360 lbs., 141.00; 5 head, 458 lbs., 135.00; 8 head, 522 to 524 lbs., 129.50 to 132.00 (130.12); 9 head, 605 to 633 lbs., 115.00 to 115.50 (115.22); 9 head, 706 to 735 lbs., 109.00 to 110.00 (109.34); 5 head, 765 to 796 lbs., 104.00 to 106.00 (104.78); 12 head, 805 to 830 lbs., 103.00; 162 head, 892 lbs., 104.50. Medium and large frame 2, 7 head, 688 lbs., 108.50; 14 head, 781 lbs., 102.50. Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 777 lbs., 93.50. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 7 head, 271 lbs., 143.00; 5 head, 344 lbs., 133.00; 6 head, 416 lbs., 126.00; 20 head, 503 to 527 lbs., 110.50 to 120.00 (114.77); 9 head, 558 to 575 lbs., 107.00 to 110.00 (108.34); 17 head, 638 to 644 lbs., 104.00 to 104.75 (104.31); 28 head, 660 lbs., 103.75; 741 to 748 lbs., 98.00 to 100.75 (100.32); 8 head, 898 lbs., 92.75. Medium and large frame 2, 7 head, 794 lbs., 94.00. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 4 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1350 to 1700 lbs., 51.50 to 52.50; high dressing, 54.50 to 54.75. Boners, 19 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1100 to 1425 lbs., 52.50 to 54.75; high dressing, 55.00 to 58.75; low dressing, 49.50.
