St. Joseph pig sales
The St. Joseph feeder pig auction, St. Joseph, Mo., reported receipts of 759 head May 29, compared to 1,121 head two weeks ago, and 1,112 head last year, according to the USDA-Missouri Department of Agriculture Market News, St. Joseph, Mo. Compared to two weeks ago, feeder pigs sold steady to weak. As noted two weeks ago area farmers are busy in the fields trying to beat the next rain. All sales based on actual weights and by the head. U.S. 1 to 2: 72 head, 41 lbs., 38.00; 31 head, 45 lbs., 35.00; 155 head, 52 lbs., 47.00; 55 to 58 lbs., 50.00 to 53.00 (51.74); 60 to 62 lbs., 44.50 to 45.00 (44.90); 21 head, head, 78 lbs., 50.00.
