South Central direct sheepThe South Central Direct sheep sales report for the week ending May 25, showed receipts of 2,900 feeder lambs and 400 slaughter kids, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder lambs were steady to $1 higher. Slaughter lambs, slaughter ewes, and replacement ewes were not tested. No recent comparison for slaughter goats. Trading and demand were good. More rain throughout the area continues to keep pastures green and lush. Feeder lambs: Texas, 2700 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 75 to 90 lbs., 105.00 to 108.00; 200 head, hair sheep 65 lbs., 85.00. Slaughter meat goats: Texas, kids, 400 head, Selection 2, 50 lbs., 110.00. Date: 5/31/07
