Pratt Livestock reportPratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 2,780 head, May 24, compared to 5,332 head, last week and 4,197 head, last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared to last week, feeder steers and feeder heifers weighing 300 to 750 pounds were not enough for market test but a lower undertone was noted. Feeder steers at 750 to 850 pounds were $2 to $3 lower, 850 to 900 pounds were steady, and 900 to 1000 pounds were $1 to $2 lower. Feeder heifers at 750 to 850 pounds were steady to $1 lower, 850 to 900 pounds were $4 higher, and 900 to 950 pounds were steady. Trade was active, demand was good. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Receipts included 82% 600 lbs., and over, 10% 600 pounds and under, 8% cows And bulls. The feeder supply was 60% steers and 40% heifers.
