Nebraska wheat Board sets meeting

The Nebraska wheat Board has scheduled their next meeting on June 14 and 15 at the Panhandle Research and Extension Center, in Scottsbluff. The June 14 meeting will begin at 8 a.m. and will reconvene at 8 a.m. on June 15.

The Board will review funding proposals, finalize the 2007-2008 fiscal year budget and tour the PREC research plots. Other agenda items will include reports in regard to board activities, research and market development. The public is invited to attend all or any portion of this open meeting. A copy of the agenda will be available on the wheat Board website, www.nebraskawheat.com one week prior to the meeting, or by calling the wheat Board office at 402-471-2358 or 800-651-6736; or e-mail: nwb@wheat.ne.gov.

The Nebraska wheat Board administers the one and one quarter cent per bushel excise tax levied on wheat marketed in Nebraska. The Board invests the funds in programs of international and domestic market development and improvement, policy development, research, promotion and education.
