Most bids end day lower

Grain and soybean bids were all moderately to sharply lower May 29, according to the National Grain Market Summary.

Wheat was lower with corn and soybeans also lower pressuring the market. Weekly exports were bearish as well with 13.8 million bushels reported with expectations of 17 to 21 million bushels.

corn was lower due to improved weather forecasts and good moisture in the Midwest and eastern corn belt over the weekend eased concerns of dryness for now.

soybeans followed corn lower as good rains added a bearish tone to the market. Weekly exports were 4.5 million bushels with expectations for 8 to 11 million bushels.

Wheat was mostly 5 to 11 cents lower. corn was 9 to 12 cents lower. soybeans were mostly 10 to 18 cents lower.

In export news, there were no new confirmed export sales to report.

In the futures close, Kansas City July wheat was $4.81, down 8 1/4 cents.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $4.78 to $4.81, down 8 cents; Minneapolis, $5.23 1/2, down 11 1/2 cents; Portland, $5.65 to $5.70, unchanged to down 5 cents; St. Louis, $4.55, down 10 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $3.50, down 11 cents; Minneapolis, $3.37, down 11 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $3.51 3/4 to $3.55 3/4, down 12 1/4 cents; Omaha, $3.52 to $3.54, down 10 cents.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $7.58, down 18 cents; Minneapolis, $7.23 1/2, down 19 cents; southern Iowa, $7.38 to $7.39 1/2, down 15 1/2 to 17 1/2 cents; central Illinois processors, $7.67 1/2 to $7.83 1/2, down 15 cents.

Kansas City wheat prices May 29, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $5.46 to $5.56, down 8 1/4 cents; 12% protein, $5.48 to $5.58, down 8 1/4 cents; 13% protein, $5.51 to $5.65, down 8 1/4 cents; 14% protein, $5.56 to $5.66, down 8 1/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was $4.96 to $5.06, down 8 1/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 white corn was $4.77 to $4.85, unchanged.
