Huron cattle sales reportThe Bales Continental Commission Co., Huron, S.D., reported receipts of 1,089 head May 29, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to two weeks ago, feeder steers and heifers sold $2 to $4 higher. Many load lots in the 800-pound plus weight cattle. Steers comprised 45% of the run, heifers 55%, with 95% of the run was over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 9 head, 549 lbs., 134.00; 22 head, 626 lbs., 124.50 calves; 70 head, 783 lbs., 112.25; 62 head, 844 lbs., 110.00; 868 to 893 lbs., 109.00 to 110.85 (109.63); 63 head, 926 lbs., 101.00 to 107.50 (106.78); 11 head, 961 lbs., 104.25. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 6 head, 447 lbs., 132.50; 6 head, 478 lbs., 134.00; 5 head, 511 lbs., 117.00; 12 head, 783 to 785 lbs., 100.00 to 100.50 (100.21); 9 head, 852 lbs., 103.00; 5 head, 952 lbs., 89.00. Large frame 1, 12 head, 977 lbs., 97.50.
