Huron cattle sales report

The Bales Continental Commission Co., Huron, S.D., reported receipts of 1,089 head May 29, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to two weeks ago, feeder steers and heifers sold $2 to $4 higher. Many load lots in the 800-pound plus weight cattle. Steers comprised 45% of the run, heifers 55%, with 95% of the run was over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 9 head, 549 lbs., 134.00; 22 head, 626 lbs., 124.50 calves; 70 head, 783 lbs., 112.25; 62 head, 844 lbs., 110.00; 868 to 893 lbs., 109.00 to 110.85 (109.63); 63 head, 926 lbs., 101.00 to 107.50 (106.78); 11 head, 961 lbs., 104.25. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 6 head, 447 lbs., 132.50; 6 head, 478 lbs., 134.00; 5 head, 511 lbs., 117.00; 12 head, 783 to 785 lbs., 100.00 to 100.50 (100.21); 9 head, 852 lbs., 103.00; 5 head, 952 lbs., 89.00. Large frame 1, 12 head, 977 lbs., 97.50.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 591 lbs., 117.00; 6 head, 645 lbs., 111.00 calves; 8 head, 695 lbs., 106.00; 765 to 772 lbs., 104.00 to 107.00 (106.71); 824 to 838 lbs., 104.00; 850 to 891 lbs., 96.00 to 104.25 (98.41); 970 to 980 lbs., 91.10 to 92.85 (92.06). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 9 head, 465 to 483 lbs., 119.00 to 124.00 (121.73); 13 head, 511 to 520 lbs., 115.00 to 116.00 (115.77); 6 head, 763 lbs., 100.00; 5 head, 873 lbs., 88.50. Medium and large frame 2, 7 head, 873 lbs., 72.00.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 948 lbs., 87.00.
