Dunlap cattle auction reportThe Dunlap Livestock Auction, Dunlap, Iowa, reported receipts of 1,771 head May 25, compared to 1,173 head last year, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Des Moines, Iowa. This was a special feeder cattle sale. Demand was good. Offerings were mainly heifers. Compared to two weeks ago steers and heifers trended steady with a firm undertone on average to good quality calves and yearlings. Receipts included 71% feeder cattle over 600 pounds, 73% feeder heifers and 27% feeder steers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 561 to 596 lbs., 129.50 to 138.00 (131.43); 602 to 643 lbs., 127.50 to 130.00 (127.96); 655 to 679 lbs., 122.50 to 126.00 (124.96); 19 head, 702 to 718 lbs., 117.50 to 120.75 (118.51); 15 head, 802 lbs., 113.00; 9 head, 808 to 848 lbs., 104.25 to 107.00 (106.11) fleshy; 861 to 876 lbs., 107.00; 11 head, 897 lbs., 103.00 fleshy; 27 head, 979 lbs., 102.75. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 3 head, 393 lbs., 138.00; 12 head, 410 to 441 lbs., 136.50 to 137.00 (136.70); 15 head, 569 to 577 lbs., 118.50 to 120.75 (119.84); 17 head, 709 to 715 lbs., 104.00 to 108.75 (105.67); 7 head, 791 lbs., 105.75.
