Dodge City livestock salesReceipts at Dodge City Winter Livestock Inc., Dodge City, Kan., reported receipts of 3,481 head, May 23, compared to 3,049 head, last week and 2,938 head, last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared with last week, feeder steers at 300 to 750 pounds and heifers at 300 to 700 pounds were not enough for an accurate market test, but a steady undertone was noted. Steers weighing 750 to 1000 pounds were steady. Heifers weighing 700 to 850 pounds were weak to $1 lower, 850 to 950 pounds were steady. Slaughter cows and bulls were firm to $1 higher. Trade and demand were moderate. Receipts included 84% 600 pounds and over, 9% 600 pounds and under, 7% slaughter cows and bulls with 249 head, early. The feeder supply included 51% steers and 49% heifers.
