Tulsa livestock auction report

The Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 1,845 head June 18, compared to 2,338 head last week and 2,442 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week , steer calves were steady to $2 lower. Few feeder steers were steady to $2 higher. Feeder heifers and heifer calves were $2 to $3 lower. Demand was good on better cattle. Weigh-ups were average. Flesh conditions were medium with a few fleshy calves. Receipts were comprised of 48% steers, 42% heifers, 10% bulls with 33% of feeder cattle over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. A total of 282 cows and bulls sold with 54% going to packers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 10 head, 308 to 330 lbs., 130.00 to 139.00 (135.94); 402 to 445 lbs., 120.00 to 136.00 (126.05); 460 to 498 lbs., 118.00 to 129.00 (125.56); 505 to 543 lbs., 115.00 to 125.00 (119.58); 551 to 595 lbs., 112.50 to 119.00 (115.97); 600 to 645 lbs., 109.00 to 114.50 (111.98); 661 to 689 lbs., 104.00 to 110.00 (107.99); 700 to 735 lbs., 103.00 to 107.25 (105.24); 10 head, 801 lbs., 103.00. Medium and large frame 2, 8 head, 340 to 342 lbs., 110.00 to 124.00 (111.74); 14 head, 400 to 445 lbs., 110.00 to 120.00 (116.62); 16 head, 450 to 495 lbs., 100.00 to 117.00 (111.11); 17 head, 502 to 540 lbs., 107.00 to 114.50 (112.19); 17 head, 614 to 648 lbs., 98.00 to 109.50 (105.28). Small and medium frame 1, 5 head, 442 lbs., 118.00; 6 head, 521 lbs., 114.00. Small frame 3, 20 head, 603 to 642 lbs., 52.00 to 58.50 (54.68) Longhorn.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 7 head, 463 to 495 lbs., 105.00 to 116.00 (114.25); 500 to 545 lbs., 108.00 to 116.00 (113.24); 6 head, 567 to 588 lbs., 110.00 to 111.50 (110.51); 14 head, 603 to 648 lbs., 103.50 to 110.00 (106.22). Medium and large frame 2, 6 head, 608 to 635 lbs., 101.00 to 109.00 (105.44).

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 315 to 320 lbs., 120.00 to 129.00 (127.18); 18 head, 352 to 395 lbs., 113.00 to 120.50 (116.24); 400 to 448 lbs., 105.00 to 113.00 (108.57); 450 to 498 lbs., 103.00 to 112.00 (107.62); 500 to 547 lbs., 102.50 to 111.00 (105.68); 553 to 595 lbs., 98.00 to 104.00 (100.99); 601 to 645 lbs., 96.00 to 100.50 (98.39); 20 head, 650 to 670 lbs., 92.50 to 99.50 (98.32); 7 head, 705 to 748 lbs., 90.00 to 92.00 (90.71); 5 head, 758 to 790 lbs., 85.00 to 93.50 (88.93). Slaughter cows: Breakers, 15 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1200 to 1675 lbs., 52.50 to 56.00; high dressing, 56.50 to 59.50; low dressing, 48.50 to 52.00. Boners, 42 head, 80 to 85% lean, 950 to 1450 lbs., 50.00 to 53.50; high dressing, 54.00 to 60.00; low dressing, 45.50 to 49.00. Lean, 55 head, 85 to 90% lean, 900 to 1350 lbs., 48.00 to 51.50; high dressing, 52.00 to 56.50; low dressing, 44.00 to 47.50. Light, 25 head, 85 to 90% lean, 800 to 975 lbs., 42.00 to 45.50; high dressing, 46.00 to 50.50; low dressing, 38.50 to 41.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 16 head, 1100 to 2100 lbs., 63.00 to 66.50; high dressing, 67.00 to 68.00; low dressing, 58.50 to 62.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1, 5 to 6 years old, 1100 to 1250 lbs., 4 to 6 months bred, average blacks, 885.00 to 900.00; 9 to 10 years old, 1150 to 1200 lbs., 4 to 5 months bred, average quality, 600.00 to 685.00.
