Tulsa livestock auction report
The Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 1,845 head June 18, compared to 2,338 head last week and 2,442 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week , steer calves were steady to $2 lower. Few feeder steers were steady to $2 higher. Feeder heifers and heifer calves were $2 to $3 lower. Demand was good on better cattle. Weigh-ups were average. Flesh conditions were medium with a few fleshy calves. Receipts were comprised of 48% steers, 42% heifers, 10% bulls with 33% of feeder cattle over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. A total of 282 cows and bulls sold with 54% going to packers.
