Springfield livestock salesThe Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Mo., reported receipts of 2,746 head June 20, compared to 2,108 head last week and 1,996 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, steer calves were $3 to $6 lower, yearling steers were steady to $3 lower, Holsteins under 800 pounds were $2 to $5 lower, over 800 pounds were steady, heifers were steady to $3 lower, with only front end kind at steady money. Demand was moderate to light, supply moderate to heavy. Several consignments of wean-vac calves in the sale. Fed cattle trading lower each week and high cost of grain pressuring cattle market. The feeder supply included 39% steers, 12% Holsteins, 36% heifers, 13% bulls, with 36% over 600 pounds.
