South Central direct sheepThe South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending June 15, totaled 3,300 feeder lambs, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder lambs were $4 to $5 lower. There were no slaughter lambs. Slaughter and replacement ewes and slaughter meat goats were not tested. Trading was fairly active, demand good. Hot weather and needle grass continue to encourage producers to market lambs. Feeder lambs: Texas, 3300 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 60 to 70 lbs., 105.00 to 107.00; 70 to 85 lbs., 103.00 to 105.00; 130 lbs., 104.00, some with .30 to .40 slide over the base weight.
