Pratt livestock sales report

Pratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 858 head June 14, compared to 2,443 head last week and 2,090 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan.

Compared to last week, feeder steers at 300 to 950 pounds and feeder heifers at 300 to 800 pounds were not enough for a market test. Feeder steers at 950 to 1000 pounds were $1 higher. Feeder heifers at 800 to 850 pounds were $2 higher. Trade was active, demand was good. Slaughter cows and bulls were $1 lower. Receipts included 69% 600 pounds and over, 12% 600 pounds and under, 19% cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 52% heifers and 48% steers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 8 head, 290 lbs., 155.00; 5 head, 373 lbs., 143.00; 7 head, 859 lbs., 106.00; 950 to 1000 lbs., 99.85 to 104.00 (102.35). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 63 head, 845 lbs., 103.60. Medium and large frame 2, 17 head, 663 lbs., 102.75; 14 head, 876 lbs., 97.00. Medium frame 1 to 2, 6 head, 530 lbs., 104.50; 7 head, 728 lbs., 94.50.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 10 head, 299 lbs., 145.00; 15 head, 702 lbs., 103.25; 60 head, 787 lbs., 100.75; 800 to 850 lbs., 98.60 to 102.50 (100.66). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 17 head, 584 lbs., 105.00; 5 head, 689 lbs., 100.00; 50 head, 804 lbs., 96.50; 6 head, 906 lbs., 93.50. Medium and large frame 2, 8 head, 502 lbs., 104.50; 12 head, 565 lbs., 101.00; 12 head, 718 lbs., 98.00; 4 head, 776 lbs., 90.50; 11 head, 880 lbs., 90.00.

Baby calves: Per head, 24 head, 120.00 to 420.00 (302.92).

Feeder cows and heiferettes: 11 head, 70.00 to 89.00 (79.00).

Slaughter cows: Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 59.00 to 60.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 50.00 to 55.00; high dressing, 56.00 to 58.00; low dressing, 43.00 to 48.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 61.50 to 66.50 (64.66); high dressing, 1 head, 67.50; low dressing, 55.00 to 60.00 (58.00).
