Dodge City cattle sales

Receipts at Dodge City Winter Livestock Inc., Dodge City, Kan., reported receipts of 1,680 head June 13, compared to 2,625 head last week and 2,022 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan.

Compared with last week, feeder steers at 300 to 750 pounds were not enough for test, 750 to 800 pounds were $3 to $4 lower on a light test, and 800 to 900 pounds were steady to firm. Heifers at 300 to 700 pounds were not enough for test, and 700 to 800 pounds were $1 to $2 lower on light test. Slaughter cows were $2 to $3.00 lower. Slaughter bulls were $3 to $4 lower. Receipts included 77% over 600 pounds, 6% under 600 pounds and 17% slaughter cows and bulls with 256 early. The feeder supply consisted of 60% steers and 40% heifers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 300 to 350 lbs., 153.00 to 168.00 (165.19); 750 to 800 lbs., 107.00 to 108.00 (107.18); 800 to 850 lbs., 103.10 to 108.25 (105.65), value added 108.85 to 109.25(108.96); 850 to 900 lbs., 104.75 to 107.85 (107.18); 19 head,, 946 lbs., 100.85. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 31 head, 719 lbs., 106.00. Medium and large frame 2, 78 head, 888 lbs., 100.50.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 8 head, 530 lbs., 118.50.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 336 lbs., 135.00; 350 to 400 lbs., 128.00 to 134.50 (131.58); 9 head, 573 lbs., 110.00; 700 to 750 lbs., 100.10 to 100.75 (100.59); 20 head, 755 lbs., 99.75; 22 head, 842 lbs., 96.75. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 8 head, 340 lbs., 127.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 107.50 to 111.00 (109.98); 700 to 750 lbs., 98.75 to 99.25 (98.81). Medium and large frame 2, 5 head, 614 lbs., 95.00.

Feeding cows and heiferettes: 14 head, 61.50 to 85.50 (71.46).

Baby calves: Steers or bulls, per head, individual 120 lbs., 235.00; 4 head, 170 to 197 lbs., 310.00 to 430.00 (348.62); 4 head, 225 lbs., 450.00; 11 head, 260 to 270 lbs., 450.00 to 475.00 (459.48); 10 head, 316 lbs., 535.00. Heifers, per head, 2 head, 105 to 120 lbs., 210.00 to 225.00 (218.00); 4 head, 192 lbs., 335.00; 13 head, 205 to 242 lbs., 325.00 to 360.00 (347.35); 13 head, 250 to 280 lbs., 325.00 to 385.00 (370.69).

Bred cows: Medium and large frame 2, per head, 3 head, 1220 lbs., aged, broken mouth, 3rd trimester 740.00. Large frame 1 to 2, middle aged, solid mouth, Individual 1365 lbs., 2nd trimester 760.00; 2 head, 1345 lbs., 3rd trimester 1075.00. Medium frame 1 to 2, 2 head, young 727 lbs., 2nd trimester 600.00.

Pairs: 4 pair, Medium and large frame 2, aged 1145 to 1265 lbs., with 100-to 250-lb. calves 850.00 to 925.00.

Slaughter cows: Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 52.25 to 56.50; low dressing, 48.50 to 52.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 50.50 to 58.50; low dressing, 35.00 to 50.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 65.00 to 67.00; low dressing, 56.50 to 64.50.
