Wyobraska cattle salesThe combined sales volume of Wyoming, western Nebraska, and western North and South Dakota auctions for the week ending June 8 totaled 700 head, compared to 1,550 head last week and 5,425 head last year, according to the USDA-Wyoming Department of Agriculture Market News, Torrington, Wyo. Compared to last week at Wyoming auctions, feeder steers and heifers were not well tested. Demand was moderate to good for available supplies. Direct trade moderate with prices steady on comparable sales. Offerings were light. Demand was moderate. Buyer inquiry was moderate. Unless otherwise noted direct prices are current FOB with a 2 to 3% shrink or equivalent and with a 5 to 10 cent from base weight. Steers made up approximately 63% of the supply, heifers 37%, with 92% over 600 pounds. Direct sales accounted for 420 head of the total receipts. Steers: Auctions, Medium and large frame 1, 635 to 670 lbs., 116.50 to 116.75; 815 to 850 lbs., 104.00, fleshy 800 lbs., 90.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 380 lbs., 132.00; 475 to 490 lbs., 124.00 to 126.00; 550 to 560 lbs., 118.00 to 120.00; 690 lbs., 106.50. Direct, Medium and large frame 1, FOB price, 980 lbs., 103.00 September. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, delivered price, 600 lbs., 110.00. Heifers: Auctions, Medium and large frame 1, 475 lbs., 117.00; 610 to 650 lbs., 108.25 to 111.50; 685 to 700 lbs., 100.00 to 107.50; 700 to 750 lbs., 105.00 to 111.00.
