Tulsa livestock market report

The Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 2,338 head June 11, compared to 2,605 head last week and 2,215 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, steer calves were $5 to $7 lower, feeder steers were $2 to $4 lower. Heifer calves and feeder heifers were $3 to $5 lower. Demand was moderate to good on number 1 cattle. Fill conditions mostly average, some fleshy calves. The supply included 52% steers, 40% heifers, 8% bulls with 26% feeders over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows sold $3 lower, bulls selling $1 lower. A total of 380 cows and bulls sold with 50% going to packers.

Light, 30 head, 85 to 90% lean, 765 to 975 lbs., 41.00 to 44.50; high dressing, 45.00 to 48.00; low dressing, 36.50 to 40.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 26 head, 1250 to 2235 lbs., 64.00 to 67.50; low dressing, 59.50 to 63.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1, 1 to 2 years old, heifers, 1050 to 1150 lbs., 4 to 5 months bred, high quality blacks, 810.00 to 875.00.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1, 3 to 5 years old, 1000 to 1200 lbs., with 125- to 200-lb. calves, average quality, 1010.00 to 1200.00.
