Texas juniors parade champions at state show
Texas Angus youth led 129 entries at the 2007 Texas Junior Angus Association State Show, June 2 and 3 in Fredericksburg, Texas. Cary Crow, Coffeyville, Kan., evaluated the 88 owned females, 21 bred-and-owned females, five bred-and-owned bulls, nine cow-calf pairs, and six steers before selecting champions. DAJS Rock Star 114 claimed the grand champion bred-and-owned bull title. Katy Satree, Montague, Texas, owns the July 2006 bull sired by DAJS The Rock 024. Reserve grand champion bred-and-owned bull honors went to RAF Stockman 6032. Blake Ramsey, Brenham, Texas, owns the March 2006 son of TC Stockman 365. Wells Flossie 36W was named grand champion owned female after capturing the senior calf champion title. Wade Wells, Hamilton, Texas, owns the October 2006 daughter of G A R Grid Maker. W R Scotch Design 608 claimed reserve grand champion owned female honors. The January 2006 daughter of W R GAR Design 334 is owned by Robert Dolson, Hico, Texas. She first won junior champion. Katy Satree, Montague, Texas, led DAJS Lola 240 to the grand champion bred-and-owned female title. The September 2006 daughter of TC Stockman 365 first won senior calf champion. GEYE EQ's Delia G606 was selected reserve grand champion bred-and-owned female after first winning junior champion. Emory Geye, Rising Star, Texas, owns the April 2006 daughter of DAJS All Star M243. Emory Geye, Rising Star, Texas, exhibited the grand champion cow-calf pair. G 13 Delight 4012 is a Feb. 2004 daughter of G 13 Structure. A March 2007 heifer calf sired by DAJS All Star M243 completes the winning pair. EXAR Saras Dream 5124 claimed reserve grand champion cow-calf pair honors. Kristen Klausmeyer, Burton, Texas, owns the March 2005 daughter of KG Dakota. Her calf is a March 2007 daughter of Northern Improvement 4480 GF. DAJS Futton 904 was named grand champion steer. Katy Satree, Montague, Texas, owns the February 2006 son of Exar Lutton 1831. Robert Dolson, Hico, Texas, claimed reserve grand champion steer honors with Barretts Midland 6015.
