South Central direct sheepThe South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending June 8, showed receipts of 2,800 head, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas. Compared to last week, feeder lambs were firm to $2 higher. There were no slaughter lambs. Slaughter ewes, replacement ewes, were not tested. Trading was fairly active, demand was good. Hot weather this week has spurred producers to market lambs. Feeder lambs: Texas, 2800: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 75 to 85 lbs., 107.00 to 111.00, some with .30 to .40 slide over the base weight. Slaughter meat goats: Texas, 500 head, Selection 1 to 2, 55 to 60 lbs., 105.00. Replacement nannies/does: Texas, 200 head, Selection 1 to 2, solid mouth, Boer to cross 75.00 per head. Date: 6/14/07
