Joplin regional cattle sales
The Joplin Regional Stockyards, Joplin, Mo., reported receipts of 4,839 head June 11, compared to 7,500 head last week and 5,862 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, steers were $1 to $3 lower, heifers were steady to $1 lower. Demand and supply were moderate. Several consignments cancelled as several inches of rain fell. The feeder supply included 41% steers, 47% heifers, 10% bulls, with 34% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1 400 to 500 lbs., 120.00 to 134.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 114.50 to 121.00; 600 to 700 113.00 to 118.00, calves 107.75 to 114.00; 700 to 750 lbs., calves 100.00 to 105.00; 800 to 825 lbs., 102.50 to 103.00.
