Arkansas livestock sales
The weekly summary of livestock sales in Arkansas for the week ending June 7, showed estimated receipts of 9,750 head, compared to 10,120 head last week and 9,152 head last year, according to the USDA-Market News Service, Little Rock, Ark. Compared to last week, slaughter cows sold steady to $3 lower. Slaughter bulls sold steady to weak. Feeders sold mostly $1 to $3 lower. The supply was composed of 5,605 stocker and feeder calves 2,430 feeder yearlings, 730 replacement cows, 875 slaughter cows and 110 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 40% yearling heifers. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1000 to 1500 lbs., 45.00 to 51.00; high dressing, 51.00 to 55.00. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 950 to 1400 lbs., 45.00 to 51.00; high dressing, 51.00 to 57.50; low dressing, 40.00 to 45.00. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 900 to 1300 lbs., 42.00 to 48.00; high dressing, 48.00 to 54.00; low dressing, 33.00 to 42.00. Light, 85 to 92% lean, 700 to 950 lbs., 32.00 to 38.00; low dressing, 25.00 to 32.00. Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1000 to 2100 lbs., 58.00 to 64.00; high dressing, 64.00 to 71.00; low dressing, 54.00 to 58.00. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, English cross and English-Exotic crosses, 300 to 350 lbs., 131.00 to 141.00 few sales to 151.00; 350 to 400 lbs., 125.00 to 135.00; 400 to 450 lbs., 120.00 to 130.00; 450 to 500 lbs., 116.00 to 126.00; 500 to 550 lbs., 111.00 to 121.00; 550 to 600 lbs., 108.00 to 118.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 103.00 to 113.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 95.00 to 105.00. Pairs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 3 to 7 years old, 800 to 1200 lbs., with 100- to 200-lb. calves, 850.00 to 950.00 per pair; 200- to 300-lb. calves, 1000.00 to 1100.00 per pair, few to 1250.00.
