Ada livestock sale notes

The Southern Oklahoma Livestock Auction, Ada, Okla., reported receipts of 1,560 head June 7, compared to 885 head last week and 2,100 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers were steady to $3 lower, feeder heifers were steady. Demand was moderate to good on all classes. Flesh conditions were medium to fleshy. Weigh-ups were average. The supply included 47% heifers and 48% over 600 pounds. Nearly 250 head of cows and bulls sold. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Approximately 52% going to slaughter.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 446 lbs., 129.50; 513 to 547 lbs., 117.00 to 130.00 (124.44); 554 to 564 lbs., 114.00 to 119.00 (116.85); 10 head, 604 to 621 lbs., 112.50 to 113.00 (112.80); 6 head, 685 lbs., 109.00; 13 head, 654 to 678 lbs., 103.00 to 107.00 (106.05) fleshy; 715 to 748 lbs., 105.00 to 109.50 (106.81); 7 head, 751 lbs., 102.00; 14 head, 806 to 841 lbs., 103.75 to 104.75 (104.25). Medium and large frame 2, 6 head, 509 lbs., 115.00; 13 head, 568 to 599 lbs., 105.00 to 111.50 (108.76); 631 to 643 lbs., 97.50 to 109.00 (106.94); 653 to 699 lbs., 104.00 to 107.50 (106.20).

Lean, 30 head, 85 to 90% lean, 900 to 1200 lbs., 50.00 to 53.00; high dressing, 54.00 to 57.00; low dressing, 42.00 to 47.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 35 head, 1300 to 2375 lbs., 65.00 to 68.00; high dressing, 70.00 to 74.00; low dressing, 56.00 to 62.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 4 to 7 years old, 1000 to 1300 lbs., 7 months bred, average to high blacks, 880.00 to 950.00; 4 to 8 years old, 1050 to 1250 lbs., 5 to 7 bred, average black to bwf, 740.00 to 840.00.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 3 to 6 years old, 900 to 1200 lbs., with 285- to 300-lb. calves, average blacks, 930.00 to 1150.00.
