South Central direct sheep

The South Central Direct Sheep sales report for the week ending June 1, showed receipts of 3,200 head, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to last week, feeder lambs were steady. There were not slaughter lambs. Slaughter ewes, replacement ewes and slaughter meat goats were not tested. Trading fairly active, demand good. Lambs continue to be marketed to avoid needle grass problems.

Feeder lambs: Texas, 3200 head, Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 75 to 90 lbs., 105.00 to 108.00, some with .30 to .40 slide over the base weight.
