Most bids end slightly lowerGrain and soybean bids were slightly lower June 4, while wheat had some support early, according to the National Grain Market Summary. Lending to the support, Egypt bought 180,000 tons of wheat, but some talk of hotter and drier weather in the forecast for the central and southern plains helped pressure wheat at the close. wheat export inspections came in at 15.9 million bushels as compared to expectations of 17 to 24 million bushels. corn was pressured with talk of the eastern corn Belt getting rain later during the week ending June 8, as weather has now become the primary focus on the market. Weekly export inspections came in at 37 million bushels as compared to 35 to 42 million bushels. soybeans followed corn lower with news of rain, weekly export inspections came in at 5.4 million bushels as compared to trade expectations of 10 to 16 million bushels. Wheat was unchanged to 3 cents lower. corn traded 1 to 5 cents lower. soybeans were mostly 1 to 2 cents lower. In export news, 180,000 tons of soft red winter wheat was purchased by Egypt for early July delivery. In the futures close, Kansas City July wheat was $5.04 3/4, down 2 3/4 cents. Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $5.05, down 3 cents; Minneapolis, $5.43 1/4, down 2 1/2 cents; Portland, $5.85 to $5.95, unchanged; St. Louis, $4.76, up 1 cent. Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $3.74, down 5 cents; Minneapolis, $3.52 3/4, down 1 cent; southern Iowa, $3.68 3/4 to $3.71 3/4, down 2 cents; Omaha, $3.76 to $3.77, down 3 to 2 cents. Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $7.71 to $7.74, down 2 cents; Minneapolis, $7.36 3/4, up 8 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $7.53 3/4 to $7.56 3/4, up 1 1/4 to down 1 3/4 cents; central Illinois processors, $7.87 3/4 to $8.01 3/4, down 1 3/4 cents. Kansas City wheat prices June 5, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $5.71 1/2 to $5.81 1/2, up 3 3/4 cents; 12% protein, $5.73 1/2 to $5.85 1/2, up 3 3/4 cents; 13% protein, $5.78 1/2 to $5.92 1/2, up 3 3/4 cents; 14% protein, $5.83 to $5.93, up 3 3/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was $5.25 1/2 to $5.35 1/2, up 5 3/4 cents. U.S. No. 2 white corn was $4.77 to $4.89, unchanged. Date: 6/5/07
