Weld County Fair books available, pre-entries due July 6Colorado The Weld County Fair books are available at various locations in Weld County. Anyone wanting to enter the fair, which is not limited to residents of Weld County, should note that pre-entries are required by way of an entry form and due July 6. After July 6 and until July 13 a late entry fee per exhibit will be charged. The following locations in Greeley have fair books available seven days a week, 24 hours a day. You will find them located inside a Greeley Tribune newspaper dispenser, courtesy of The Greeley Tribune: Island Grove Regional Park, 525 N. 15th Ave, (in front of the Exhibition Building) and Texas Roadhouse 2451 W. 28th Street (under the patio). The following locations have the books available during business hours: In Greeley--Weld County Extension Office, 525 N. 15th Ave, Boy Scouts of America Longs Peak Council, 2215 23rd Ave, and Big R, (both stores) 310 8th Street. In Windsor--First National Bank of Windsor, 1510 Main Street; Garden Valley Hospital, 32450 Hwy 257; and Egg and I or Windsor, 1205 Main Street. In Fort Collins, Girls Scouts Mountain Prairie Council, 1600 Specht Point Drive. The fair book can be found online at www.WeldCountyFair.com and an entry form can be downloaded. There are classes in ceramics, sewing, arts and crafts, baking, cake decorating, woodworking, furniture, stitchery, crocheting, knitting and other fiber arts, hand spun yarn and weaving, garden vegetables, field crops, flowers, photography, quilts, home décor and food preservation. Check out the new section in the Floriculture/Horticulture Division called Creative Weed Education on page 48 of the fair book. There is even a coloring contest for kids ages 5 to 8. Coloring pages can be found on the Weld County website or the Weld County Weed Division website at www.weldweeds.org. Coloring contestants are the one exception to the rule in that they do not need to pre-enter. Just bring them to the fair. Date: 7/5/07
