New website launched by Iowa Foundation for Ag Advancement

The Iowa Foundation for Agricultural Advancement, a non-profit organization, has created a new website, www.ifaa.org. This new website will house scholarship applications and recipients, photos, activities of the foundation and additional information about The Iowa Foundation for Agricultural Advancement. The foundation's core functions are to administrate the Winners' Circle Scholarship and Awards program as well as the Sale of Champions annually held during the Iowa State Fair.

The IFAA is made up of a volunteer network of agricultural business leaders. Its mission is to encourage 4-H and FFA livestock and agriculture project members to pursue ag-related careers. Since its inception in 1988 it has awarded more than $937,525 in scholarship funds to more than 755 students. 249 Sale of Champions exhibitors have sold livestock totaling $2,011,800. Four hundred and ten Performance and Carcass Awards totaling $104,400 have been given to 4-H and FFA exhibitors. That's a total of $3,053,725 raised to support the future of Iowa's 4-H and FFA youth.

"The foundation has touched a lot of people over the years, as it prepares for the next 20 years, our website will enable the ag community to more easily access scholarship information and interact with our volunteer network," states Jim Gibson, president of the board. Gibson added "In essence we are a 'behind the scenes' type of group and ifaa.org will keep us in front of the public year around."

The IFAA is proud to offer a variety of annual scholarships to both incoming freshman and upper classmen students pursuing education's in ag-related fields of study. Application forms and deadlines can be sourced from www.ifaa.org.
