Grain market close

The USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colo., in the closing grain report for July 2, reported in futures trading that Chicago July soft red winter wheat was $5.69 1/2, down 12 1/2 cents; September corn, $3.39 3/4 down 1/4 cents; and August soybeans, $8.71 up 15 1/4 cents.

The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, $6.24 1/2, down 1/2 to 12 cents; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $5.73 1/4 to $5.83 1/4, up 6 1/4 to down 3 3/4 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $3.77 3/4 to $3.79 3/4, up 3 1/4 to 10 1/4 cents; US No. 2 sorghum, rail, $6.34, down 18 to 37 cents; barge, not available; US No. 2 yellow soybeans, barge, $8.71 to $8.75, up 20 1/4 to down 1/2 cents.

Colby, Kan, unit train wheat bid was $5.22.

In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, up to 12% protein, was $5.38 to $5.65.

No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, northwest Colorado was $4.55.

In north Central Colorado, wheat was $5.10 to $5.41.

In northeast Colorado, wheat was $5.22 to $5.30.

In east central Colorado, wheat was $5.25 to $5.38.

In southeast Colorado, wheat was $5.25 to 5.30.

In south central Colorado, wheat was $5.02.

In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, corn bids were $5.22 to $5.25.

No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was steady to 7 cents higher at $5.32 to $5.38.

No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were 15 to 21 cents higher at $7.66 to $7.71.

White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $9 to $10 per cwt, mostly $9.50.

Sunflowers were $16.50 to $18.50 cwt.

In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $3.41 to $3.90 per bushel. Barley was steady at $6.50.

In Northeast Colorado and Nebraska, pinto beans were steady $27 per cwt instances $24 to $25 cwt. Great Northerns were steady at $28 cwt. Light red kidneys were steady at $32 cwt.
