FFA chapter gathersOklahoma Mulhall-Orlando FFA Chapter members, families, and numerous guests recently gathered to reminisce the past year and to honor the accomplishments of the members. The Mulhall-Orlando FFA banquet was held at the M-O Elementary School Gymnasium in Mulhall on May 11. The night entailed a wonderful meal, guest speaker, and honoring M-O FFA members. Two M-O FFA members went on to win second place in each of their SAE areas at the State Convention. Kelsey Pfeiffer received second in diversified livestock, and Andy Pfeiffer received second in swine production. Ada Pfeiffer, representing the FFA Mothers Club presented Outstanding Public Speaking Awards to Austin Kindschi, son of Kenneth and Brenda Kindschi and Jordan Bulling, daughter of Scott and April Bulling. Other winners at the chapter level include: --Beef Production--Chance Cook, son of Eddie and Shelia Cook; --Environmental Science and Natural Resources--Luke Weir, son of John and Theresa Weir; --Swine Production--Andy Pfeiffer, son of John and Gaye Pfeiffer; --Sheep Production--Jordan Miller, daughter of Allen and Linda Miller; --Small Animal Production--Mikka Harman, daughter of Chris and Randus Harman; --Fruit Production--Jordan Bulling, daughter of Scott and April Bulling; --Home & Community Development--Bailey Alley, daughter of Shane and Mindy Alley; --Outdoor Recreation--Brice Boatright, son of Bret and Kim Boatright; --Ag Mechanics--Chris Phillips, son of Tracy and Patti Phillips; --Ag Mechanics--Derek Stewart, son of Brenda Stewart; --Ag Mechanics--Jacob Beck, son of Ray and Talleri Beck; --Specialty Animal Production--Kass Pfeiffer, daughter of Jerry and Ada Pfeiffer; --Diversified Livestock--Kelsey Pfeiffer, son of Jerry and Ada Pfeiffer; --Equine Science--Wacey Harrell, son of Debbie Wallace. Throughout the past year, members have put forth the effort in a wide range of areas. Among those who excelled in public speaking were Jordan Bulling and Austin Kindschi. Bulling and Kindschi received the Chapter Top Prepared Public Speaker Awards. At the chapter level, the Star Discovery Degree went to Austin Kindschi. Kass Pfeiffer and Jordan Miller both received the Star Greenhand Award. The Star Chapter Farmer was awarded to Andy Pfeiffer. The Mothers Club presented the three graduating seniors with gifts as a reward for their hard work while in the FFA organization. The three graduating seniors were Kelsey Pfeiffer, Chris Phillips and Tiffany Silvers. Tiffany is the daughter of Clinton Silvers. Kelsey Pfeiffer was also honored as the outgoing president and was wished well toward his future plans. Pfeiffer received the Graduating Senior Scholarship from the Mother's Club and the Star in Ag Placement Award. Mikka Harman, Jordan Miller, and Jordan Bulling were presented as the Outstanding Creed Speakers. The Mulhall-Orlando FFA Chapter also honored Dennis Uhrig with the Honorary Chapter Degree. Uhrig is a former Mulhall High School graduate, and has supported the FFA since he was in school. The guest speaker, Summer Arthur, who served as a state officer this past year and Central District vice president, spoke on how to never give up and to set your mind to what you want to do. She said, "Everyone can do what they believe but acting is the way to achieve." Arthur credited the FFA for sculpting her into what she is today. The chapter elected a new officer team for 2007-2008. Kass Pfeiffer will serve as president along with Jordan Bulling as vice president. Secretary is Jordan Miller and Mikka Harman as treasurer. Austin Kindschi will be the new reporter and Bailey Alley will serve as the sentinel. After the installation of officers, President Kass Pfeiffer said, "My goal is to find new ways to attract more people into the FFA organization, and help it sculpt their future just like it is sculpting mine as well as my fellow officers."
