Ericson cattle sales report

The Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 2,600 head June 30, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb.

Receipts from the previous sale were not comparable enough to establish a trend, however, a steady undertone was noted. Offerings consisted mainly of one large consignment of 2300 head of yearlings. Cattle quality was good to very good with strong buyer demand. Receipts consisted of 98% steers and 2% heifers, 99% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 546 lbs., 123.00; 8 head, 618 to 648 lbs., 121.00 to 122.50 (121.73); 661 to 695 lbs., 115.00 to 120.50 (119.04); 762 to 789 lbs., 110.00 to 115.00 (111.79); 809 to 844 lbs., 103.50 to 113.00 (108.72); 70 head, 883 lbs., 112.50; 900 to 946 lbs., 101.50 to 108.50 (104.48); 951 to 997 lbs., 102.35 to 104.00 (102.94); 1005 to 1043 lbs., 99.35 to 103.00 (101.94).

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 476 lbs., 126.00; 635 to 640 lbs., 112.00 to 115.00 (114.22); 13 head, 655 to 695 lbs., 107.00 to 111.00 (109.52); 11 head, 732 lbs., 102.25; 6 head, 779 lbs., 102.00.
