Dalhart livestock sales report
The Cattleman's Livestock Auction, Dalhart, Texas, reported receipts of 1,107 head June 28, compared to 1,436 head last week and 1,288 head last year, according to the Texas Department of Agriculture Market News-USDA Market News, Amarillo, Texas. Compared to two weeks ago, feeder steers and heifers under 450 pounds were steady to $2 higher, 450 to 600 pounds were steady, over 600 pounds were firm to $1 higher. Slaughter cows were $2 higher. Slaughter bulls were not well tested. The bulk of the supply were Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 350- to 900-pound feeder steers and heifers. Feeder cattle accounted for 81% and slaughter cows and bulls 19%. In the feeder supply, steers made up approximately 72% of the run, heifers 28%, steers and heifers over 600 -pounds totaled 64%. Steers: Medium and large frame 1, 300 to 400 lbs., 150.00 to 153.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 127.00 to 128.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 112.50 to 114.50; 700 to 800 lbs., 105.00 to 107.25; 800 to 900 lbs., 101.50 to 103.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, package 271 lbs., 153.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 140.00 to 146.00; few 400 to 500 lbs., 118.00 to 125.00, two packages 412 to 419 lbs., 130.00 to 138.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 113.00 to 116.00, package 512 lbs., 119.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 106.50 to 108.10; package 715 lbs., 104.25; package 813 lbs., 95.25. Medium and large frame 2, 600 to 700 lbs., 102.50 to 105.00; package 722 lbs., 98.00. Heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 400 to 500 lbs., 115.00 to 117.00; package 513 lbs., 104.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 101.50 to 106.00; package 739 lbs., 97.75. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 116.50 to 121.00; two packages 423 to 480 lbs., 105.00 to 112.00; package 585 lbs., 103.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 97.00 to 103.00; package 790 lbs., 94.00; 900 to 1000 lbs., 90.00 to 92.00. Medium and large frame 2, few 500 to 600 lbs., 98.00 to 100.50. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1100 to 1300 lbs., 50.00 to 55.50. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1000 to 1300 lbs., 52.00 to 54.25.
