Ada livestock sale notes

The Southern Oklahoma Livestock Auction, Ada, Okla., reported receipts of 775 head June 28, compared to 1,035 head last week and 2,992 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, all classes were lightly tested. Few steers were $1 to $3 lower. Heifers were steady to $2 lower. Demand was moderate to good on all classes. Weigh-ups were average. Flesh conditions were medium to fleshy. The supply included 45% heifers and 27% over 600 pounds. The weather is cloudy and warm with very wet conditions. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. A total of 250 cows and bulls sold with 48% going to packers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 458 lbs., 124.00; 19 head, 510 to 535 lbs., 120.00; 5 head, 553 to 555 lbs., 116.00 to 121.00 (119.00). Medium and large frame 2, 5 head, 400 to 440 lbs., 120.00; 7 head, 457 to 483 lbs., 110.00 to 120.00 (115.90); 550 to 583 lbs., 108.00 to 114.00 (109.53).

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 2, 12 head, 616 to 648 lbs., 97.00 to 98.50 (97.71).

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 12 head, 418 to 444 lbs., 117.00 to 119.00 (118.68); 7 head, 478 to 490 lbs., 111.00 to 115.00 (113.59); 6 head, 503 to 508 lbs., 112.00 to 114.00 (112.66); 5 head, 518 lbs., 120.00 fancy; 7 head, 616 lbs., 104.00; 6 head, 668 to 675 lbs., 96.00 to 100.00 ( 97.32). Medium and large frame 2, 8 head, 428 to 439 lbs., 107.00 to 111.00 (109.52); 10 head, 514 to 548 lbs., 103.00 to 107.00 (104.61); 14 head, 558 to 587 lbs., 102.00 to 107.00 (103.69).

Slaughter cows: Breaker, 25 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1100 to 1550 lbs., 54.00 to 56.00; high dressing, 57.00 to 58.00; low dressing, 50.00 to 52.00. Boners, 50 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1050 to 1425 lbs., 55.00 to 56.00; low dressing, 49.00 to 53.00. Lean, 30 head, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1150 lbs., 49.00 to 51.00; high dressing, 54.00; low dressing, 43.00 to 47.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield Grade 1 to 2, 15 head, 1300 to 2200 lbs., 64.00 to 67.00; high dressing, 69.00 to 71.00; low dressing, 59.00 to 60.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 3 to 5 years old, 1075 to 1230 lbs., 4 to 7 months bred, high black-black whiteface 880.00 to 1000.00; 5 to 8 years old, 1070 to 1230 lbs., 2 to 5 months bred, average black-black whiteface 720.00 to 810.00.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1, 3 to 8 years old, 1050 to 1200 lbs., with 185- to 225-lb. calves, average blacks, 1050.00.
