Wyobraska cattle sales report
The combined sales volume of Wyoming, western Nebraska and western North and South Dakota auctions for the week ending July 21, totaled 12,791 head, compared to 710 head last week and 6,850 head last year, according to the USDA-Wyoming Department of Agriculture Market News, Torrington, Wyo. At Wyoming auctions, feeder steers and heifer had no price comparisons from recent weeks. Demand was moderate to good for available supplies. Trading was moderately active. No good price comparison available, few comparable sales were steady to $1 higher. Demand was moderate to good. Buyer inquiry was moderate to good. Offerings were moderate. Unless otherwise noted direct prices are current FOB with a 2 to 3% shrink or equivalent and with a 5 to 10 cent from base weight. Steers made up approximately 63% of the supply, heifers 37%, with offerings over 600 pounds totaled around 93%. Direct sales accounted for 12,120 head of the total receipts.
