Salina cattle auction report
The Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Co., Salina, Kan., reported receipts of 2,502 head, July 19, compared to 1,452 head, last week and 2,366 head, last year, according to the USDA to Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers 500 to 700 pounds light supply selling steady. Steers 700 to 900 pounds were steady to $1 lower. Heifers 700 to 1000 pounds were $1 to $2 higher. Slaughter cows were not tested. Trade was active. Demand was good. Receipts included 93% 600 pounds and over, 6% 600 pounds and under, less than 1% slaughter cows. The feeder supply included 39% steers and 61% heifers.
