Pratt livestock sales reportPratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 1,769 head, July 19, compared to 1,189 head, last week and 1,419 head, last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared to last week, feeder steers 300 to 800 pounds and feeder heifers 300 to 700 pounds were not enough for market test but a higher undertone was noted. Feeder steers at 800 to 850 pounds were $2 lower, 850 to 900 pounds were steady, 900 to 1000 pounds were not tested. Feeder heifers 700 to 950 pounds were steady. Trade was active, demand was good. Slaughter cows were $2 higher. Slaughter bulls were $1 higher. Receipts included 89% 600 pounds and over, 7% 600 pounds and under, 4% cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 67% steers and 33% heifers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 34 head, 599 lbs., 129.50; 10 head, 602 lbs., 125.00; 7 head, 680 lbs., 112.00; 35 head, 745 lbs., 122.25; 750 to 800 lbs., 113.75 to 117.60 (116.48); 800 to 850 lbs., 115.75 to 117.60 (116.73); 850 to 900 lbs., 112.00 to 115.50 (114.49); 49 head, 944 lbs., 107.00; 63 head, 979 lbs., 105.35; 15 head, 1142 lbs., 92.75. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 18 head, 784 lbs., 110.00; 800 to 850 lbs., 110.50 to 112.60 (112.15); 850 to 900 lbs., 108.00 to 110.10 (109.15). Medium and large frame 2, 800 to 850 lbs., 100.00 to 103.00 (102.20). Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 426 lbs., 125.50; 47 head, 583 lbs., 120.00; 47 head, 632 lbs., 115.50; 61 head, 674 lbs., 111.50; 700 to 750 lbs., 111.75 to 112.00 (111.92); 750 to 800 lbs., 109.50 to 110.00 (109.76); 800 to 850 lbs., 105.50 to 109.50 (109.29); 10 head, 890 lbs., 101.50; 32 head, 910 lbs., 103.75. Feeder cows and heiferettes: 5 head, 85.00 to 87.00 (85.40). Slaughter cows: Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 52.00 to 57.00; high dressing, 58.00 to 59.00; low dressing, 46.00 to 51.00.
