Ada livestock sale notes
The Southern Oklahoma Livestock Auction, Ada, Okla., reported receipts of 2,410 head July 19, compared to 1,750 head last week and 3,161 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady to $3 higher. Demand was good for all classes. Flesh conditions were medium. Weigh-ups were average. The supply consisted of 39% heifers and 56% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. A total of 300 cows and bulls sold with 33% going to packers.
