Wyobraska cattle salesThe combined sales volume of Wyoming, western Nebraska and western North and South Dakota auctions for the week ending July 14, totaled 6,300 head, compared to 710 head last week and 6,150 head last year, according to the USDA-Wyoming Department of Agriculture Market News, Torrington, Wyo. At Wyoming auctions, feeder steers and heifers were not tested. Demand was moderate to good for available supplies. Direct trade was slow and no good price comparison available for this week's reported sales. Offerings were moderate. Demand and buyer inquiry were moderate. Unless otherwise noted direct prices are current FOB with a 2 to 3% shrink or equivalent and with a 5 to 10 cent from base weight. Steers made up approximately 62% of the supply, heifers 38%, with 100% of the offerings over 600 pounds. Direct sales accounted for 6200 head of the total receipts. Steers: Auctions, Medium and large frame 1 none. Direct, Medium and large frame 1 FOB price, 725 lbs., 112.75; 800 lbs., 113.00 August; 885 lbs., 106.00 July/August; 890 lbs., 106.00 September; 900 lbs., 105.00 August; 900 lbs., 111.00 August to September.
