High Plains weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending July 15, totaled 188,483 head, compared to 236,254 head last week and 154,683 head last year, according to the USDA-Market News Service, St. Joseph, Mo. The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots. Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 4,493 head, 1,158 to 1,450 lbs., 87.00 to 91.50 (89.98); 65 to 80% Choice, 7,267 head, 1,240 to 1,425 lbs., 88.00 to 91.50 (89.63); 35 to 65% Choice, 40,743 head, 1,100 to 1,475 lbs., 86.00 to 91.50 (90.44); 0 to 35% Choice, 4,101 head, 1,150 to 1,400 lbs., 89.00 to 91.00 (90.58).
